Auto-Design Kitchen: Island Placement

Business Objectives / Goals:
- Enable users to quickly decide if they want to add or remove island from the auto design result.
- Simplify the planning experience by displaying only the most relevant layout and design controls, helping reduce complexity and improve efficiency.
- Deliver a reliable and consistent experience through controlled feature rollout and stable backend behavior.
What's Included:
- Island toggle & preset integration:
- Expose an "Add an Island to Your Design" ON/OFF toggle at the top of the Layout panel so users can include an island in the design.
- Pre-set the toggle state based on the selected preset so preset design intent is respected by default.
- Layout options & thumbnails:
- Show island-specific layout thumbnails (U-Island, L-Island, Galley-Island, I-Island) when the island toggle is ON.
- Show standard layout thumbnails (U-Shape, L-Shape, Galley, I-Shape) when the island toggle is OFF.
- Update thumbnail set dynamically based on the toggle so users only see relevant layout choices.

Automatic Backsplash Cutout Around Windows

- Allow placement of backsplash on wall zones, achieve cutouts around windows and provide accurate pricing using different backsplash item dimensions.
What's Included:
- Automatic placement and cutout generation:
- Automatically generate geometry cutouts in backsplashes where they overlap windows.
- Dynamically regenerate backsplash geometry when zones or openings change to keep designs up to date.
- Backsplash pricing calculation:
- Populate item lists with the correct backsplash size variations and quantities for accurate ordering and pricing.

Open 3D Designs Directly from Customer Website

- Let retailers link website inspiration directly into a guided 3D design flow to reduce friction and boost engagement.
- Preserve preset context and onboarding guidance across devices to increase completion and satisfaction.
- Provide partners with simple URL generation and management so existing inspiration galleries can be reused without engineering changes.
What's Included:
- Deep-linking & preset loading:
- Open Spaces Flex (kitchen and bathroom) directly from an external URL into the guided flow.
- Skip the internal Inspiration Gallery and land users directly in the 3D scene aligned with the preset.

Book Appointment Form Update

Business Objectives / Goals
- Collect complete, standardized address data during appointment booking to improve appointment accuracy and fulfilment.
- Provide a consistent Book Appointment experience across SFx Planner, Questionnaire and Leap to reduce retailer confusion and setup errors.
- Enable backend validation and persistence of address data to support lead management workflows and reporting.
- Improve form clarity by clearly indicating required fields to reduce submission errors.
What's Included
- Standardized address fields:
- Add Address Line 1, Address Line 2, City, State and Zip/Postal Code to the Book Appointment form.
- Ensure fields appear in a logical, consistent order and match styling across SFx Planner, Questionnaire and Leap.
- Apply the same address field configuration to related entry points (including Inspire flow card).
- Country selection dropdown:
- Introduce a Country dropdown positioned between State and Zip/Postal fields.
- Provide a standardized, selectable country list to capture country in a consistent format.
- Implement the dropdown across SFx Planner, Questionnaire and Leap flows.
- Form UX, required indicators and validation:
- Display a red asterisk next to mandatory fields (e.g., Last Name, Email) to make requirements clear.
- Perform client-side validation for required and configured address fields prior to submission.

UX/UI Improvements

- Reduce user friction and speed common tasks by standardizing interactions and shortcuts across platforms.
- Increase user confidence in rendering and upload processes by providing clearer status, larger previews, and background processing.
- Keep UI clean and accessible through consistent layout, concise messaging, and contextual tooltips to improve discoverability and reduce cognitive load.
What's Included:
- User interface & messaging:
- Standardize toaster text to sentence case for all covering copy actions (wall, floor, ceiling) to improve readability.
- Add a separator and title “Room” in the Dimensions tab to clarify room vs. wall measurements.
- Remove kitchen-specific references from onboarding and help overlays to make guidance universally applicable.
- Rendering & preview experience:
- Center the HQ render frame horizontally and vertically on all screen sizes with no overlap of UI elements.
- Increase render preview size by 2x while preserving quality and responsive layout.
- Allow closing the render modal while AI generation continues in the background and make results accessible later.
- Show a tooltip on the disabled render button explaining generation is in progress to prevent duplicate renders.
- Catalog navigation & layout:
- Truncate long category names after two lines and reveal the full name on quick hover tooltips to preserve layout cleanliness.
- Enforce consistent indentation and chevron arrow sizing for same-level categories to prevent layout shifts and improve navigation structure.
- Editing & interaction enhancements:
- Enable Delete/Backspace shortcuts on Mac to delete selected walls without interfering with text inputs, matching Windows behavior.
- Improve I2D upload flow by showing a Leap-style animation only during the upload phase and providing clear upload/processing states.

Support HEIC / HEIF Format as Input for Leap
Target Clients: All Leap and Spaces Flex Clients with Inspire module.
Business Objectives / Goals:
- Enable users to upload HEIC/HEIF images so content from modern devices is accepted without friction.
- Automatically convert HEIC/HEIF to PNG on the front end to ensure downstream compatibility and reduce backend processing.
- Prevent corrupted uploads and preserve image quality to ensure reliable processing and a consistent user experience.
What's Included:
- Image upload support:
- Accept .HEIC and .HEIF files during image upload in Leap and I2D.
- Update upload UI to indicate HEIC/HEIF support and guide users through the flow.
- Surface clear, actionable errors when users attempt to upload corrupted or unsupported files.
- Client-side format conversion:
- Detect HEIC/HEIF formats on upload and automatically convert them to PNG in the browser.

- Parse and identify pattern molding units originating from catalog as repeatable segments.

- Validate pattern parameters to ensure correct repeat counts and seam alignment.
- Rendering and Editing in Design Environment:
- Render continuous molding runs (e.g., top molding) without visual breaks across repeated segments.
- Maintain correct geometry and seam behavior when moldings span cabinet boundaries or catalog placements.
